The Pont d'Arc

15 minutes from l'Édredon:

The Pont d'Arc is presented as a natural gateway to the famous Gorges de l'Ardèche. Whilst it is a very rare geological phenomenon, other similar occurrences exist in France and throughout the world. Nowhere else, however, can one see a natural arch on such an extraordinary scale: the Pont d'Arc, which straddles the river Ardèche, reaches a height of 54 metres and is 59 metres wide. It is, moreover, the only natural stone arch in France overhanging a running and active river.
Since 1990, the Pont d'Arc is listed as a Grand Site de France.
